Sometimes when we walk in through the doors of the church, we are so sharp in all of our finest wear, that others sitting in the congregation appear to be watching models on the runway, as we stroll down the aisle to our seats. To the natural eye, we appear to be the epitome of style and grace, but how do we appear in the eyes of God?
Unlike man, God is not overly concerned about our physical appearance - He is more concerned about the state of our spiritual attitude, especially when we come into His house to serve and worship Him.
Only you can truly determine if you are dressed for service to God. Only you can truly examine your heart and know if you have a right attitude toward God and the ones with whom you’ve come to share your time of worship. Any attitude that you have toward anyone else that is not of God is a clear
sign that you are not dressed for service.
If you are wearing the garment of anger and revenge because someone has hurt you in some way and it has not been dealt with – you are not dressed for service.
If you are wearing the garment of jealousy and envy because of something that someone else has and you don’t have – you are not dressed for service.
If there is any unforgiveness in your heart towards anyone – no matter what the reason may be – you are not dressed for service.
Examine yourself and make sure that when you get dressed for service your spiritual attitude is not forgotten.
