Have you humbled yourself before the Lord - not on your knees but in your heart?

The ministry of Jesus Christ was one of never ending interaction with the unsaved- regardless of how detestable they may have been in the eyes of the public. His whole purpose was to be among those who were ill and unsaved, so that they could be delivered both physically and spiritually. His ministry was one of inclusion of all people because He came that all may have life in Him.
Today, it appears as if the 'church' or many different groups of people who get together for 'fellowship' operate completely opposite to the way Christ operated while on earth. Whereas Christ embraced all peoples, many people who claim to be a part of the 'church' today appear to segregate themselves and embrace only a select group of people - the people who they think are like them. Whereas Christ lived among the people and intermingled with them on a daily basis, many people of the 'church' today wouldn't be caught dead in the areas where Christ would be hanging out and sharing in the lives of those others would consider as insignificant. It appears as if many of those who claim to represent the 'church' are working in a way that misrepresents the example Christ set for us to follow. Where do I fit in all of this? I work for the kingdom of God but there is room for improvement. I believe that I can do a lot more. I keep biblical reading materials with me at all times to share with others and I share about God every opportunity that I get, but there's still a lot more that I can do for the kingdom. Posting on my website is good, but nothing can beat personal interactions with interested persons, on an extended basis, to help them gain a better understanding of God through His word. This is the goal that I am now seeking to accomplish. |
