If you have respect for God, you will live the way He wants you to. (2nd Chronicles 6:31)

You can follow God any way you choose but He is going to judge you by what is written in His Word.
When Christ was on earth, His teachings were based on what is written in the Word of God. He passed the same teachings on to His disciples who later became Apostles and continued His teachings based on what is written in the word of God. As a result of this method, the Apostles operated in the same power of God that operated in the life of Christ. This resulted in the formation of the Biblical Church with amazing displays of the power of God.
Today, many persons base their teachings of Christ on their own personal opinions outside of what is written in the Word of God and as a result, contribute to the powerlessness of the 'church' many are now experiencing. Did God plan poverty, sickness and death for His creation or did He know that these would come as a result of sin and therefore planned our redemption through His son, Jesus Christ, from the foundation of the world?
My search for God took me out of the church on Sundays and out in the boat fishing instead. Amazingly, it was during these times that I realized there had to be a God. The vastness of the ocean is almost too much to comprehend and when I thought about it, I realized that there was no way it go so far inland and then stop at the shoreline if there wasn't someone greater than us at the controls. I also spent one night sleeping on the front seat of a boat and I just couldn't understand the stars and moon just hanging there yet not crashing to earth, unless there was Someone greater than us in control.
These realizations drew me to the Bible where I began a search for God through the Book that was inspired by Him and written by His prompting, through others. The end result is my continuing search expressed in my recently published books, Biblical Journeys-Passages Through Time and Into Eternity; What Does The Bible Say About.....; The Journey To Becoming A True Woman of Virtue, Reflections: A 40 Day Devotional and my soon to be released book: Renewing Your Mind. |
