If you remained in a school without a structured environment for learning, you would not have progressed to a level of knowledge that would have allowed you to graduate and become an intelligent, independent thinker, capable of pursuing higher learning; nor would you have become an employee, making positive contributions to the growth of a company and the economy.
I am certain that there are congregations with structured environments that can boast of this method of spiritual education, as they have produced graduates who have been able to move on to the position of teacher and leader of congregations under their stewardship. But, there are those congregations who appear to have no order to their mode of operation, resulting in membership remaining at the same spiritually immature level for innumerable years.
To avoid the latter, I am sure there are many solutions but I will suggest two: find a good Bible teaching church or increase your personal Bible study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed because you understand and correctly represent AND present the word of God to others.
