Dear God,
There is so much going on in the world today that it seems as if the darkness is overshadowing the light instead of the light being the guiding source for those who are in darkness.
It is so hard to distinguish between people who are Christians and people who are not. It’s as if instead of Christians being separate from the world, we have blended in with the lifestyles and standards of the world and now, instead of being a beacon of light guiding vessels to safety in the harbor – Christians now need to find the light of God themselves and follow it.
Forgive those of us Lord who TALK Your word but do not WALK Your word AND for diluting your word and making it so palatable to the hearers that it has very little impact if any, upon them. Instead of allowing the power of Your word to cut to the core of our hearts we are now sugarcoating Your word to encourage people to come into a building and make US feel as if we are truly working for your kingdom.
Christ’s message to us was,
“ Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” Mark 16:15 (KJV)
He did not just say this – He actually did it. He did not wait for the people to come to Him - instead, He went to them.
There are some who are following the example of Jesus but there are many of us who are not. Please forgive us and help us now to begin to work the work the way Jesus worked the work while He was on earth.
