Who Is The God of Heaven?
THE GOD OF HEAVEN IS THE:
-God of the earth (Genesis 24: 2-4)
-God who brought Abraham out of his native land where other gods were worshipped and promised him the land of Canaan as an inheritance for his offspring. (Genesis 24: 7)
-God who gives kingdoms to others (2 Chron. 36: 23; Ezra 1: 2)
-God who punishes sin (Ezra 5: 12)
-One who gives success in fulfilling His will (Nehemiah 2:17-20)
-One whose love endures forever (Psalm 136: 26)
THE LAWS OF THE GOD OF HEAVEN
The God of heaven has laws that we need to learn and obey. His laws of the Ten Commandments found
in Exodus 20: 1-17 were summed up by Jesus Christ, His Son, in the following two commandments found in Matthew 22: 37- 40. We are to love the Lord with all our heart, soul and mind and our neighbour as ourselves.
If we love the Lord with all our heart, soul and mind, we will not worship other gods – whoever they
may be; we will not make other gods –whatever they may be; we will not take the name of the Lord in vain or unnecessarily and we would honour the Sabbath day.
If we love our neighbour as ourselves we would honour or respect our parents; we would not kill; we would not commit adultery; we would not steal; we would not lie against others and we would not want what others have to the point where it consumes us and make us unhappy or sick.
WHAT IS A COVENANT?
According to Webster’s dictionary, a covenant is the promises of God to man, usually carrying with them conditions to be fulfilled by man, as recorded in the Bible.
THE GOD OF HEAVEN IS A COVENANT KEEPING GOD
He keeps His covenant and mercy for those who love Him and live in obedience to His commandments. (Nehemiah 1: 5)
THE GOD OF HEAVEN WILL SET UP A KINGDOM THAT WILL LAST FOREVER
And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all of these kingdoms and it shall stand before it. (Daniel 2: 44)

During the time when the leaders of the governments of this world are in control, God will establish His kingdom. This kingdom will never be under the control of any human government; it will destroy every kingdom set up by man and it will last forever.
SUMMARY
The God of heaven is the One who created us, gave us His laws to live by; promised us certain blessings if we live in accordance to His will and the One whose kingdom will not be like the kingdoms of this world – changing leadership every few years because of politics or death - but will be an everlasting kingdom under His leadership.
